You’re brand new to the adult world. But you’ve got a lot of questions about how to handle adult life.
Instead of chasing your dreams, you’re bogged down by laundry and car repair bills and the never-ending pile of dishes.
No one warned you it would feel so…tiring? Unfulfilling? Complicated?
But don’t worry. You’re in the right place.
I’m Anna
When I got my first teaching job out of college, I had no idea how to handle adult life. I cried over work on Sunday nights, packed cold cereal for lunch, and agonized over whether I could afford a new pair of boots.
But I’ve slowly discovered small tweaks and straightforward systems to help make adult life easier. These little changes aren’t magic. But they have helped me figure out what matters and find the time to pursue it. And if you try them out, too, they might make your life so. much. easier.
Adulting advice? Yes, please!
About twice a month, you’ll find a new blog post here. These posts will help you live your adult life with more calm and confidence. Some topics that pop up often?
- Books and reading
- Really great (and easy!) recipes
- Simple steps to reduce stress
- Making the most of every season
No matter what, we’ll pursue what matters and take simple steps forward together.
On the first Tuesday of every month, I also send my most exclusive content to my email list. We’re talking insider essays, behind-the-scenes stories, and best-of-the-best recommendations for books and products that I don’t share anywhere else. Bonus: email subscribers are also the first to know about new content and free resources. Get on the list here!
Wondering if this is for you?
If you agree with these statements, this might be a great place for you to hang out.
Do you want to spend your time on the things that make you feel most fully alive?
Maybe it’s gathering your people around a crowded kitchen table. Maybe it’s cozying up with a blanket and a novel. Around here, we figure out what makes us feel whole. Then we simplify the other stuff we’re gotta do so we can spend our precious hours doing what we want to do.
Do you believe the little things have big impacts?
When we want to grow, we don’t have to go big or go home. Little shifts in our mindsets, intentions, and habits can tilt us toward lasting change. (And, you know, make us all-around healthier humans.) So we don’t overlook or belittle them.
Do you value kindness over competition?
We are, in fact, here to make friends. Other folks are fellow humans with backstories and heartbreaks and grandmothers and favorite pizza toppings, just like us. And we treat them with the graciousness they deserve, celebrating their successes and empathizing with their heartbreaks. (Because we can hold space for both.)
Do you believe your best life is lived offline?
Oh, the irony of an online author claiming this. 😉 But in this space, we do our best to recognize the limits of the online world. We suspect that we’re meant for more than highlight reels and double-taps. Our deepest connections happen IRL, and we put our phones down to fully engage in them.
