I’m glad you’ve found my new corner of the Internet.

Wait. Didn’t you already have a blog?

Yep.

Back in 2013, I started a little blog called Girl, Defined. It was where I shared my jumble of thoughts as I navigated college and my first years as a teacher. I posted there regularly until last summer.

Then life got a little crazy. I went from a traveling cross-country to getting engaged to moving to a new city to starting a new job to planning a wedding. One missed post turned into a year of accidental silence. My schedule was partly to blame – but I was also trying to figure out what, exactly, it meant for me to be a writer.

Over that year, I realized how much I liked writing online. Girl, Defined taught me to release words into the public instead of hoarding them in a notebook. It taught me to be honest. It taught me the benefit of regular writing practice.

So why the new blog?

Because I’ve entered a new stage of life. I have (another) new address, a new last name, and a new direction for my career.

I also have a new vision for this blog.

Over here, we are intentional, and we are imperfect.

If you want to live an intentional life, making choices that help you be the best version of yourself, this space is for you. If that sounds real nice, but imperfection keeps getting in the way, this space is for you. If you just want some book recommendations because living your best life means having a well-stocked TBR list, this space is for you.
